Does PH have anything to do with acid reflux disease?

acid reflux and PH
When your stomach pH gets higher than 3.0, It secretes more acid to keep its pH below 3.0

Starting with my Air Force days in the Seventies, acid reflux has since become a real problem for me. If I am not mistaken…back then, the condition was known as heartburn! Not long after I began having the problem, it became necessary to carry a good supply of Rolaids around. If I ate something that churned up the acid, I simply popped another Rolaids for that instant relief. Remember the old commercials…how do you spell relief? ROLAIDS…can you relate?

Generally a high level of acid is found in the patients suffering from the Acid Reflux

Who would have thought that if you ate the wrong foods long enough that you could (would) develop a condition known as acid reflux disease? Out of necessity…I have learned a few things since the onset of the disease…for instance, Tums has the calcium and Rolaids have (had?) the aluminum salt which I learned later could be linked to being a cause of Alzheimer disease…so my simple solution at the time was to switch to Tums! Some time after I began using Tums…the Tums quit working… so I went to the Doctor and after all the recommended tests were accomplished, he prescribed Nexium.

After a couple of years of taking the Nexium, one day I woke up to learn that over night I had developed a yeast condition which later…the MD Doctors could not find an explanation for.
